The new Lecture & Film series "Inventor of Forms: The Cinema of Chantal Akerman" takes place at the Deutsches Filmmuseum. Starting off on October 25, 2018 with Vinzenz Hediger presenting on La Folie Almayer (2011) and followed by Eric de Kuyper's thoughts on La Captive (2000) on November 1, 2018, the series will continue in a bi-weekly rhythm.

The project "Edit Film Culture!" includes a range of presentations, talks, film screenings, performances, concerts, an exhibition and two publications, all devoted to the history of the New York film magazine Film Culture, closely connected to the rise of an independent film culture.

On May 29, 2018 in Bergen, Norway, Marc Siegel will moderate a public discussion with set designer/performer Ida Müller and director/performer Vegard Vinge.

Organized by Yvonne Zimmermann and Alexander Stark, the International Workshop on Amateur Film (May 24-25, 2018) is dedicated to "Researching Amateur Film Cultures – Methods and Materials."

On May 17, as part of the Hessian Theatre Academy's 2018 lecture series, Rembert Hüser will give a talk titled "Grau werden" (Turning Gray).
